The last few days have went on as the first ones, with lots of sun and food. Today though, on the last day, we decided to skip the beach since the weather wasn’t looking so good anyway.
We discovered that Rimini actually has a little town and is not just an endless beach with a parallel tourist street. Cool. We like Rimini!
On the afternoon though, the sky began to fall. So we ran inside to hide in a little bar by the beach. After many rounds of Rummy 500, which is a card game and not big barrels of rum, we peeked out and saw our opportunity to escape back to our hotel.
The spontaneous idea to book a trip to Rimini quickly proved to be a successful one. The extreme improvement in terms of weather was the first sign. Also, it feels nice to be back in the Italian culture. I’ve missed speaking the language, eating the food and living through other memories which we have from this country. Yeah, the vacation has really begun, in contrast to last week which was a disaster weather-wise, and was much about just hiding inside.
So far we’ve mostly just been catching up with the sun by relaxing at the beach, eating and drinking. And some volleyball too! We’re having a great time, and hope to continue like-wise.
One week in Rimini followed by a weekend in Trento to say hello to Malin and Franco. Bye for now Sweden. Hope you give us better weather when we get back.

Mom and dad bought us dinner at Mysingen on Dalarö. Even some waffles slipped in.
After a rainy sailing session down to Ornö with Maria, Simon and Malin. Weather looking better now though.
The whole weekend has been spent on sunny Dalarö together with Maria and my parents. Although my vacation isn’t here for two more weeks, summer is, and of course a swede like me is doing my best to take advantage of it.
Yesterday we took John and Ann-Marie on a guided tour around Dalarö. John and Ann-Marie are friends of my aunt Gun and were here to visit her during the weekend. I met them during my year on Hawaii 2002, where they live. Interesting people who have seen a lot!
Today, has been extra super duper summery. After mom and dad had left off on a boat trip, Maria and I took the opportunity to go to Kalvholmen to visit Jessica, Andreas and of course the children. We’ve spent the whole day on the cliffs, bathing and tanning. Beer and relaxation in the evening sun. The typical archipelago experience.
When we came back a couple of hours ago, we grabbed the bikes and went down to Dalarö by to grab a bite. Pasta for me and pizza for Maria. To finish off this beautiful day, I’m now watching Holland and Spain in the world cup soccer finals.
Tomorrow morning i’ll take the bus into Stockholm to work, gym and grab some stuff at home. Then back here to resume the summer.
While I’m at it with the writing – last week we had an extended-friday-beer-on-a-thursday-evening, with a Mexican team. For the first time I got the opportunity to beat up a piñata – and I took it! Except for that interesting activity it was also interesting to meet everyone’s families and partners.
Guessed my body got a bit shocked from sudden summer activities on Dalarö this weekend, like sun tanning, boat riding, walking around barefoot without shirt etc. It’s magical how you can just travel 40 minutes by car and suddenly be in the middle of the summer. Anyway, point was I caught a bit of a cold from it. Biggest down side is that I was supposed to receive my delayed birthday gift from Maria yesterday. But since it included physical activities we had to delay it even further. So, still don’t know what it is :)
